The article is devoted to the study of students’ goal orientations with different types of life scenarios. Students from different areas of professional training took part in the study. As a result, two groups of students differing in the severity of the life scenario were identified; their goal orientations according to the parameters of vital goals, meanings and strategies were studied. It is established that for students with a “non-winner” life scenario the most important goal orientations are affection, love, interpersonal contacts, communication, family life, material success and status, hedonism, external success, professional self-realization, self-development and health; in turn, for students with the life scenario “winner” these are personal growth, self-development, freedom, openness and democracy in society, communication, safety and security, autonomy, health, external success, self-development, professional self-actualization, hedonism.
