The article examines the historiosophical views of V.F. Ern, a representative of Russian religious philosophy. Emphasis is placed on the fact that the Logos, the second hypostasis of the Trinity, manifests itself in the theandric historical process and this, according to V.F. Ern, is what real evolution is all about. The philosopher ideologically opposes the Christian and modernist understanding of progress. Only in the case of the first historiosophical position, the phenomenal and the noumenal can unite, and eternity penetrates into the corruptible. The author concludes that V.F. Hern’s worldview is relevant because in the world of postmodernism the idea of the unity of the historical process is denied, which effectively means that the possibility of historical projection in general is also denied. In this regard, scientific and technological progress without a moral component leads to unpredictable consequences.
