The value determination of the language variants

The article is devoted to the influence of values on the determination of language variants. The author gives an outline of such terms as variation, language variant and shows how the cognitive-axiological aspect determines language variation. Examples of using Latin-American and Spanish variants of the Spanish language on lexical and social levels were taken for the analysis. On the basis of the material analysis, the significance of the cognitive-axiological aspect in forming a language variant is determined. The methods of linguistic observation and description allowed the author to determine the significance of values for the determination of language variants in terms of the current research. The article can be useful for studying courses of variation theory and for those who study Romanic languages.
