The model of the fundamental motivational matrix, substantiated in several publications by the authors, is analytically specified in relation to the phenomena of values and needs in the proposed article. Through an interdisciplinary study that integrates distinct approaches and achievements of philosophical anthropology, social philosophy, and social psychology, the specifics of the motivational significance of values and needs are revealed, as well as their interdependent effects within spiritual, moral, economic, and legal types of motivation. The article substantiates the direct relevance of the phenomenon of needs as a motivating factor to economic and legal types of motivation, as well as the phenomenon of values as a motivating factor to spiritual and moral types of motivation. It is emphasized that the phenomenon of values has a dominant significance and serves as a motivating factor for all types of motivation: spiritual and moral - directly; economic and legal - indirectly. An attempt is made to provide a rational interpretation of the concept of asceticism as a fundamental guideline in the implementation of a strategy for achieving harmony between the personal and natural existential principles of an individual, as well as the harmonious correlation of fundamental types of motivation in the development of social systems.
