The article deals with the problem of value and semantic aspects of clinical interview. It studies deep structure of speech using the psycholinguistic method to interpret patient's state correctly. The author's version of clinical and semantic analysis of speech is presented. The article describes distortion in the system of values and meaning of life of neurotic depression patients. It is concluded that one must take into account not only emotional and behavioral symptoms but also those values and semantic system which is of subjective importance. It provides better understanding of a patient and helps defining the psychotherapy targets.
