Value and meaning-related characteristics of the law enforcement officer’s identity at different stages of service

The author focuses on changeability of the system of a person’s values and meanings determined by the changing social environment and the person’s status in it. The article describes the peculiarities of value and meaning-related features of the law enforcement officer’s identity at different stages of service. The applied complex of psycho-diagnostic methods enables the author to detail available views on the structure of values and their formation by law enforcement officers and to comprehensively specify the content of their identity. The researcher analyzes the character of changes of law enforcement officers’ values and meanings of life when they master their profession, which leads to discovery of the main mechanisms of formation and general dynamics of different personality characteristics, and their varied description allows considering the regulation of meanings as one of the main components of psychological architectonics of human life activity.
