The value potential of myth in modern culture

The article shows that the transformation of culture as its main trend in modern conditions allows not only to understand the features of manifestation, but also to see the connection with previous cultural practices. Among them, a special role belongs to that period of human history, which was under the auspices of myth. The study substantiates that the value potential of the myth influences the modern cultural practices of everyday life. The myth has features that make it relevant in our time, because he is immanent to the world itself, but is not transcendental. It shows that in the philosophical thought of ancient philosophical teachings, which is significant for modern socio-cultural processes as the initial value nature of the myth. The myth served years as the basis for an independent, value-based ordering of the world, giving a person a fulcrum for making a choice in existential situations. It is concluded that the leading human need in the changing world of modern culture is the need to create a new value hierarchy, leading to the combination in everyday practices of mythological, religious and scientific worldview, mythopoetic images of ancient folk beliefs and elements of the modern scientific picture of the world
