Censorship in the sphere of culture of Russia: history and modernity

The article is devoted to the received in the last period of the spread of myths about the presence of censorship in the field of national culture. By attracting a wide range of sources, reveals a topic related to the history of formation and development of political censorship in the former Soviet Union. Particular emphasis in the article is on Glavlit activity - the body of state administration of the USSR, to exercise censorship of printed works and the protection of state secrets in the media in the 70s - 80s of the last century. Based on the analysis, the author concludes that the creation of such myths as “censorship in the field of culture”, brings a split in the creative environment and contributes to the destabilization of the political situation in the country. Censorship in Russia banned at the legislative level.
