Scientists admit that the period in the history of the 1960s-1980s remained very difficult for the whole country, and especially for the peoples of the North Caucasus, including the Chechen-Ingush Republic. This attitude also applies to the national state policy of the USSR. Of course, the specific side of the problem is explained, first of all, by the difficulties of the consequences of the forced displacement of peoples in the 1920-1940s of the population living in various regions of the country (North Caucasus, Crimea, Northwest, Volga region, Far East, partly from the regions of the Soviet republics of Transcaucasia, the Baltics, the Byelorussian SSR, etc. If we draw a conclusion regarding the Chechen-Ingush ASSR of 1960, the main reason was the difficulties of restoring both the autonomy itself and the creation of a new system of the economic sector, the revival of the original culture of the peoples inhabiting the republic. The publication aimed to show the assessment of this problem through documents as evidence of historical memory about the difficult time for the population of the republic, the reality of that time. Methods and principles. The author was guided by the methods and principles of historical research known in historical science, primarily the method of chronological presentation of materials and identified archival documents on events, while observing the information sequence of events in 1960 within the Chechen-Ingush ASSR, on the possibility of building relationships in the sphere of interethnic relations, relying on such principles known in practice as mutual understanding, trust, consensus, consociality and others.
