The diary of K.I.Chukovsky, which he has kept for 69 years (1901-1969), represents a unique historical and literary document that reflects the cultural life of the country on the background of the revolutions and wars that happened in Russia in the twentieth century. To be fair, it must be noted that K.I.Chukovsky in his diary usually overlooks political issues, he gives priority to portrait and domestic sketches, notes about books and works, etc. Nevertheless, in critical and crisis moments, when habitual flow of life is exposed to sudden changes, it is impossible to be detached.
