The Rite of Coronation of Boris Godunov

The article presents a transliterated text of a written monument dating back to the late 16th — early 17th centuries, which practically has not been studied until recently. A general description of its paleographic and source- based features with elements of archeographic and linguistic commentary is given. Informative parts of the document, similarities and differences in the logical description of the ceremony of ordination, specific traditions and their reflection in the presented text are considered. The speech of Boris Godunov and that of Patriarch Job are compared. So, the text is to be regarded as a working draft excerpt from the full final version of the text of Godunov’s Coronation Ceremony.
