The article is devoted to the problem of teaching professionally-oriented reading in non-linguistic universities. Due to the Internet, the flow of information that future professionals need to process is increasing. Reading gives access to information that can be used to deal with problems at work. In this regard, the issues of developing effective methods of teaching professionally oriented reading in a non-linguistic university are becoming increasingly relevant. The development of reading skills improves the formation of communicative competence since a well-chosen text can stimulate learners’ speaking activities and improve writing skills. The teacher’s responsibility is not only about using interesting reading materials, it is also important for a teacher to choose the right teaching methods to foster students’ creativity, promote student participation and increase their interest in reading.
