Digital transformation of the small-commodity farming sector in Kyrgyzstan

Free access

This article examines the structural transformations of the agricultural sector caused by the persistent dominance of small-scale production. It proposes the concept of digital transformation as a critical tool for overcoming the shortcomings of small-scale farming. The article provides a comparative analysis of international digitalization experiences, focusing on the Chinese "land-saving" model, which is most relevant to the conditions of Kyrgyzstan. It is argued that the small-scale nature of land, while a barrier to traditional mechanization, is becoming a catalyst for the implementation of Industry 4.0 innovations (UAVs, small autonomous robots, precision plant-by-plant control systems).
