The paper is focused on the study of the conceptual explication of the digitalization role of the state power information function, as well as the peculiarities of politics in virtual space. The relevance of this topic is dictated, on the one hand, by the undeniable fact that modern digital technologies are actively used in governance and politics, on the other hand, by the problem caused by the effectiveness of virtual power in various spheres of society. In addition, tensions arise between the effectiveness of traditional forms of power and digital phenomena. The paper is an attempt to analyze and systematize the main aspects characterizing the modern virtual space, where digitalization is partially or fully applied. The author identifies key aspects relating to virtual space and the information society in its development. The ultimate goal of this study is to construct a socio-philosophical reflection on the role of digitalization and the virtualization of power, politics, and governance. The research methodology is based on the principles and methods of socio-philosophical analysis, which focuses on overcoming the fragmentation of the theoretical foundations of modern social science; a systematic approach to the issues of information society and digital sovereignty from the perspective of historicism, structural and functional analysis of social factors of information and communication technologies; logical-historical and comparative analysis, which is interdisciplinary in nature.
