Digitalization as a relevant resource for managing production assets in track facilities of Russian railway transport

The article specifies the place of the category "digitalization of production assets" in the conceptual apparatus of the modern economy of railway transport and considers digitalization as a process of introducing digital technologies into the facilities management, as a transfer of information into a digital environment convenient for analysis. Based on the theory and practice of applying the resource approach to managing complex systems, we present a wide range of factors of organizations’ competitive advantages (a list of resources in a broader sense), considering them as one of the most important resources for managing track facilities of railway transport and regulations for managing business processes. In our opinion, the development of digitalization in this field requires expanding the understanding of the category "efficiency" by including performance and sustainability indicators with the allocation of zones of sustainability by the most important indicators of using production assets in track facilities.
