The article suggests digital analysis of emotions as one of the methods for using text analytics to obtain useful information related to opinions. In particular, the issues of automated extraction of the emotional component from poetic texts are considered in order to determine the emotive perception of the regional locus by the locus authors. An experience of the digital analysis of the Ural poets’ emotions as referred to the regional locus is presented. The methodology of emotion extraction realizes ontological analysis based on the poetic domain ontology and onto-lexicons (sets of lexical units associated with ontological concepts), which results in the poetic text tagging with the labels of ontological concepts. An approach to create the domain and task-tuned ontological knowledge is also presented. The importance of the development and use of automatic tools for reducing the time and labor intensity of all stages of the research, such as ontological knowledge acquisition, ontological analysis, extraction of emotions and result interpretation are emphasized and the tools developed by the authors to achieve these goals are presented. The specific results of calculating emotions and their interpretation in accordance with the specified research objectives are presented in the form of diagrams and comments.
