Digital substations of voltage class 35-110 kV

The article discusses an urgent topic for the electric power industry related to the introduction of digital technologies into it, namely digital substations. The authors consider the structure of digital substations, the goals of their creation, reveal the advantages and disadvantages of using digital substations, provide the basic requirements for digital substations (DPS) according to the amended standards of technological design of PS 35-110 kV, consider options for using DPS technologies, devices that meet the requirements of IEC 61850, note the advantages of introducing DPS technologies and related problems.
