The article is devoted to the identification of the essence and specifics of digital technologies in the organization of socio cultural activities. The classification of digital technologies according to the criteria “software tools” and “technical means” has been developed. The ways of minimizing objective risks in the use of digital technologies in cultural institutions are specified. The list of scientific research conducted at the Department of Socio Cultural Activities of the Moscow State Institute of Culture on the impact of digital technologies on the formation of value orientations of the personality of a future specialist in the sociocultural sphere; improving the efficiency of resource management of sociocultural activities; forecasting and implementation of sociocultural projects and programs is presented. The stages of digitalization of the process of organizing sociocultural activities that have semantic and evaluative significance in cultural institutions are identified and characterized. It is concluded that the open pedagogical space of discourse, reflecting the peculiarities of the functioning of sociocultural activities in the conditions of digitalization, provides an opportunity to carry out promising research related to the expansion of the range of application of the axiological approach in cultural institutions in order to establish criteria for evaluating their achievements, pedagogical concepts of the organization of socio cultural activities; substantiation of the importance of taking into account the new architectonics of specific areas of implementation socio cultural activities; identification of trends and barriers to the development of digitalization in organized leisure.
