Modern Russian style in the guesthouse design

The article examines the Russian style features, which are popular for the decoration of guesthouses and apartments, which seems relevant in connection with the active development of regional tourism in Russia. The interior stylistic solution of such hospitality industry objects should be chosen taking into account the material culture traditions of the region. This paper examines the experience of designing Russian-style guesthouses in Vologda, Vologda region and Suzdal. The purpose of this study is to consider the modern Russian style features in relation to the design of guesthouses and mini-hotels. The research topic is the Russian style in a modern interior. Apart from the fact that the Russian style has recently become extremely popular in both residential and public interiors, the original interior design, corresponding to the place “spirit”, is an effective means of competition in the daily rental market. The article identifi es the main techniques for creating Russian style interiors, identifi es the necessary elements that make up such an interior. In addition to using natural traditional materials for decoration and furniture, Russian-style interiors require the inclusion of a large number of custom-made items (textiles, tableware, household items and decor), which can be realized by attracting local craftsmen and artists. These techniques can be offered as a kind of design algorithm to design students who are working on design concepts for projects that require a Russian-style solution.
