“Tao Te Ching” Translated by Archimandrite Daniel (Sivillov)

The article describes the history of the first complete translation of the “Tao Te Ching” into Russian, performed in late 1820s by Daniel (Sivillov), the hieromonk of the 10th Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Beijing. The article is provided with a table containing the structure of the translation, as well as with a preface made by Archimandrite Daniel in subsequent years.
