State activity in ensuring the realization of citizens' rights to a favorable environment in Russia

The article is devoted to the analysis of the activities of the state authorities of Russia in the field of ensuring the right of citizens to a favorable environment and comparing the environmental legislation of some European countries. Ensuring the implementation and protection of the right to a favorable environment by state bodies implies the implementation of various measures aimed at preventing harm to the environment and the health of citizens, identifying and eliminating negative impacts on the environment, as well as eliminating the consequences that have arisen as a result of causing such harm. The activities of public authorities are important in ensuring the protection of citizens' rights to a favorable environment. However, the existing ecological and economic policy in Russia currently does not provide conditions for the safe sustainable existence of nature and society and does not contribute to the stable socio-economic development of the country. Russia should take the example of the environmental policy of European countries, since in Russia economic benefits often come first.
