Activity of the community of trustees on prisons in the Yenisei province (XIX - beeginning of XX century)

The paper deals with the activity of the community of trustees on prisons in the Yenisei province. The history of the origin and functioning of churches at prisons in Krasnoyarsk, Achinsk, Yeniseisk, Kansk and Minusinsk in XIX - early XX century is presented. The paper also considers the cooperation of the British Bible Society with the temples at prisons in the Yenisei province. This article is the first to give reasons for the thesis about the traditions of the interaction between the state, public organizations and the Russian Orthodox Church which were historically formed in the Yenisei province. The proof of this thesis is supported by the information from previously unused archival documents.
