UN agencies working to ensure the rights of women and children: UNICEF and UN Women

The relevance of the research topic is due to the fact that the concept of the rights of women and children, expressing the fundamental rights and freedoms with which every person is born, has acquired special significance and value in our time. In modern democratic legal states, equality before the law, freedom of thought, the right to elect and be elected, the application of the principle of equal pay for equal work; prevention of all types of discrimination in education, health care, economic and social life is the main indicator of human rights observance. In this regard, the observance of the rights of women and children has become a criterion for the level of civilization and democratization of countries. The purpose of the study is to analyze the activities of the UN specialized agencies in the field of protecting the rights of children and women. In the course of the work, the activities of the UN specialized agencies in the field of protecting the rights of children and women were considered using the example of UNICEF and UN Women.
