Demographic well-being of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra

Currently, the population of Russia is decreasing. The solution of the demographic problem is given priority attention at all levels of government. Given the diversity of Russia’s regions, it is advisable to consider the features of their demographic development, which can be analyzed from the point of view of demographic well-being. The assessment of demographic well-being consists of the dynamics of demographic processes and a balanced ratio of quantitative and qualitative indicators. The article suggests supplementing the assessment of demographic well-being with indicators of the institution of a large family. The aim of this work was to assess the demographic well-being of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra. The key tasks were the analysis of the main demographic processes: fertility, mortality, population reproduction, migration, as well as changes in the number of large families. The analysis showed that the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra is prosperous in demographic terms. To implement simple generational substitution, it is necessary to pursue a family policy, and the main object of state support should be a large family.
