Democratic socialism and bolshevism in Russia early XX century: moral and ethical principles and mutual evaluation

The article deals with moral values and ethical principles of the socialist parties of the leading Russia in the early twentieth century. In specific examples shown are how different have these orientations, depending on the nature of the political forces - their medium: in practice parties “democratic socialism” - the Socialist-Revolutionaries, Popular Socialists, the Mensheviks dominated the guidelines for the humanistic values of pluralism, freedom, respect for the human person; for followers of the so-called “class morality” - the main value of the Bolsheviks was political expediency. We give mutual evaluation of members of these opposing approaches to the problem of the relation of politics and morals, conclusively proving that the Bolshevik version of socialism categorically cannot be called democratic. Basic research methods: analysis, synthesis, biographical method, analogy, comparison.
