The article analyses Russian anthroponymy in horizontal and vertical dimensions from the point of view of demonstrativeness which is a sign of a trendy thing. The trends in naming are identified, namely the return of ancient Slavic names and forgotten canonical names, using double names and so on. The problem, that demands a legislative solution, is brought to light.
