Defect detection in metal objects of transport infrastructure depending on the frequency spectrum of ultrasonic waves when using non-destructive testing systems

The results of computer simulation of the problem of detecting a defect in metal structures using ultrasonic waves are presented. The mathematical model of this problem was presented in the form of a wave equation. For the selected prism materials and the material under study, the solution was found using the discontinuous Galerkin finite element method (dG-FEM) with 4th order discretization. The simulation was carried out for five values of the center frequency generated by the piezoelectric transducer. The obtained solutions are presented in graphical form.
