Deviation as a means of foregrounding in literary text

In this article, the occurrence of deviation in a literary text is considered from the point of view of performing its foregrounding function, as a means of better interpreting text. The material for the analysis is the text of the short story «A Perfect Day for Bananafish» by J. Salinger and the cases of deviation in it.
