The article is devoted to the historical and cultural analysis of the structure of gender identity in the traditional culture of the Russian peasantry. The author pays special attention to the forms of organizing the upbringing of the value attitude of the girl to motherhood, to the woman's mission in broadcasting the leading social, cultural, mental stereotypes of the behavior of the Russian ethnos. The article demonstrates the importance of preserving traditional gender roles, which make it possible to level the rapid transformation of family, marital, professional attitudes in the conditions of modern society. The article shows that cognitive dissonance in terms of gender perceptions contributes to the destruction of the traditional institution of the family, which is the source of primary gender socialization. The author makes the conclusion about the need to reanimate the socializing functions of maternal education in the modern young generation.
