The dialogue of cultures in the works of a famous Kalmyk writer Mikhail Vankayevich Khoninov (1919-1981) is represented by several directions - Russian-Kalmyk, Kalmyk- Belarusian, Kalmyk-Buryat, Kalmyk-Mongolian ties. These are the relevant topics in the writer's poetry, prose and dramaturgy, mutual translations of works, literary traditions, contacts, epitolary. The article discusses the Buryat theme in the dialogue of cultures on the example of Mikhail Khoninov's work: mutual translations of poems, dedication poems, the poem "The Legend of How Padun Fell in Love with Angara" (1970-1979), the novel "Remember, the Land of Smolensk ..." (1974), as well as the play by a Buryat playwright Sh.-N. Tsydenzhapov "Larks Everywhere Sing the Same Way" (1980), its central character is Mikhail Khoninov, junior lieutenant, Belarusian partisan in the Great Patriotic War (1942-1944).
