This article examines the main pedagogical qualities that characterize the competence of a military university teacher, the didactic categories of the pedagogical process, which are revealed using forms, techniques, methods and means of teaching, the mastery of which reflects the ability and willingness of a novice military university teacher (first appointed (planned to be appointed) to a position) to perform various types of pedagogical activities. This led to the choice of the scientific task of the study: the search for scientifically sound ways to organize the support of the pedagogical activity of a novice teacher in order to improve his pedagogical competence.
