Didactic possibilities of using authentic materials in foreign language teaching

In the article the role and didactic potential of using authentic materials in a foreign language classroom is stressed. The combination of various didactic means contributes to the effectiveness of the learning/teaching process as they stimulate students’ critical thinking, cognitive activity, raise sociocultural awareness and help develop the communicative skills.
