The aim: To assess the dynamics of N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) and inflammatory markers in patients with congestive heart failure (CHF) and different response to cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT). A total of 37 patients (mean age of 55.1±7.1 years, 81.1% men) with CHF (67.6% ischemic and 32.4% non-ischemic etiology) were examined at baseline, 1 month, and 6 months after CRT: NT-proBNP, tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-1β, interleukin-6, C-reactive protein and an echocardiogram.
