Analysis of morbidity and mortality from prostate cancer in the Tyumen region in comparison with the Russian Federation and the Ural federal district for the period from 2008 to 2017

The article deals with the main issues of the epidemiology of prostate cancer in the Tyumen region, the Russia and the Ural Federal district for the period from 2008 to 2017. According to the Tyumen population cancer register, the incidence of prostate cancer in the Tyumen region for the analyzed period increased almost 3 times from 31.24 to 80.94. The number of registered patients has actively increased by 2 times from 34.6% in 2008. up to 64.2% in 2017. Morphological verification of prostate cancer over the past years increased from 95.6% to 98.6% in 2008 and 2017 respectively. The one-year mortality rate of patients with prostate cancer in the OT over the analyzed period decreased from 17.7% to 3.2%, the mortality rate from 13.02 to 9.4, respectively. In conclusion, the authors conclude that the results are explained by the implementation of screening programs in the Tyumen region for the early detection of prostate malignant neoplasms of the prostate gland, an increase in the level of oncologic alertness of general medical doctors, and the implementation of modern methods of diagnosis and treatment of Medical Center «Medical City».
