The article discusses the issues related to the formation of new discursive practices that are taking shape in modern conditions - conditions of deepening globalization and anti-globalization processes. The author of the article sets the task of determining the optimal "angle of observation" (in the terms of O. S. Issers) and representing those phenomena that are not yet amenable to strict differentiation within the framework of discourse theory and migration linguistics. Migration linguistics is an emerging trend that does not yet have its own conceptual apparatus. The lack of a unified terminology system and, as a consequence, the divergent use of migration linguistics concepts in various academic areas complicates the creation of a model of migration processes and the selection of key concepts, in particular the concept of 'MIGRATION'. The object of migration linguistics is not only a model of dynamic linguistic processes, not only a model of migration discourse, but also aspects such as motivation, circumstances, factors of migration, the consequences of migration processes in social practices. Social change can be understood as change in background practices. With regard to discursive practices, we can talk not only about the emergence of new communication channels, but also about the formation of new ideologies and "identities", about mixing discourses and, thus, about expanding of the discursive space. Social practices are subject to reconfiguration. It happens when a practice or aspect of the practice that was previously marginal becomes central. Understanding discursive practice - like any social practice - is based on understanding it as an activity and social experience given in direct observation.
