Remote work: concept and features of labor regulation

The article outlines the remote form of employment as a subject of scientific research. An attempt is made to substantiate the need for sociological study of this phenomenon in view of the high potential impact of changing forms of employment on various social structures. The major problems in the development of remote work in Russia and their solutions on the legislative basis are described. The reasons for the employee's transition to a distant form of work are considered. Summing up the results, it can be concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic and dynamic development of information and communication networks have become catalysts for the improvement of social and labor relations in the sphere of remote employment. In this regard, a detailed sociological analysis of remote work with the help of in-depth interviews, including expert interviews, questionnaires of specialists employed in the labor market and government representatives is needed to identify trends, prospects and social consequences of the active introduction of remote format into the practice of labor relations.
