Distance learning: experience of sociological analysis

Distance learning is able to meet the needs of education. The problems of reducing intellectual and social inequality in such learning are discussed. It is of particular importance due to such advantages as accessibility of education, mobility, the ability to repeatedly refer to the material posted in the information environment, ability to organize the educational process independently. This creates a level of conscious attitude to learning, rational allocation of resources - time, intellectual, and physical. The disadvantages of distance learning are considered as well. These include interruptions in training, insufficient interaction between the teacher and the student in real time, negative perception of criticism from a teacher in electronic messages, and students’ lack of understanding of the material. The results of the empirical study among students of Novosibirsk are presented. It was shown how the process of adaptation took place, what problems students faced, how they assessed the level of teaching in remote form, what educational formats it is advisable to transfer to remote mode. The integration of traditional and distance learning technologies for obtaining high-quality education in accordance with the individual abilities of students is noted as a promising task in Russian higher education.
