Distance learning: Motivation issues
Бесплатный доступ
Th e relevance of the study of the problems of distance learning, among which motivation is one of the most important, is due to the quantitative (expansion of coverage) and qualitative transformation of distance learning, in which digital technologies and artifi cial intelligence are increasingly used, most oft en without proper pedagogical control and relevant methods. Aft er the pandemic, identifying, systematizing, understanding, and solving problems of motivation in distance learning have come to the forefront among the problems of modern education. Th e purpose of the study is to develop a response to the challenges of digital transformation, which distorts traditional educational motivation, when the increase in technical, operational and communication capabilities does not provide a comparable increase in the quality of training and education. Th e advantages of electronic (distance) learning are highlighted, their positive and negative impact on the motivation of students is determined. It is concluded that while quantitatively expanding the potential of the educational process, distance learning narrows it qualitatively. At the same time, it is precisely in the conditions of distance learning that the specifi cs of students’ motivation for learning are most clearly manifested, and problems of managing it appear, requiring solutions in conjunction with general issues of digital transformation and AI in education.
