The article considers divination as a perceptual set for messages on social media. We consider pages dedicated to mixed martial arts. Subscribers approach the information perception with a certain experience that will affect the perception of what they see on social media. The subscribers of the mixed martial arts pages follow the divination mechanism while adapting to new information. There are three different types of divination: normative, motivating and normbreaking. “Normative” divination is highlighting the expected behavior from community members and showing what behavior is typical within the framework of a certain situation. “Motivating” divination shows the reaction of a neutral member of the community. “Normbreaking” divination shows an unexpected reaction of a certain fighter’s fan towards the opponent fighter’s fans, and at the same time can cause a transition from one group within the community to another.
