Evidence-based nutritional correction of antioxidant status and risk factors of atherosclerosis in healthy and in patients of working age

A randomized cohort clinical trial was performed by blind method in order to obtain fundamental positive effects on antioxidant/oxidant status, lipid profile and other risk factors of atherosclerosis (RFA) in persons of working age. Special choice of active dietary supplement (ADS) «Pharmanex»: «LifePak®», «Marine- Omega®», «Tegreen97®» was employed to reproduce essential diet components of the Mediterranean. During an 8-week period of ADS usage, total antioxidant capacity of blood (TAC), hyperoxide level, lipid profile were estimated in basic group consisted of 30 healthy men and women (aged 25-62) with RFA and cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and in control group consisted of 15 healthy men and women (aged 25-62) with RFA. The results of investigation proved the fact of the important role of «triple» composition ADS «Pharmanex» in prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease according to the position of evidence-based medicine.
