The impact of computer technologies, which have long influenced cinema and television, has also become relevant for painting. By way of example, we will look at the creativity of the Chelyabinsk artist T. Khuzhin and some works of other artist in the article. It also shows what effects are manifested in their art in connection with the new information technology. The methods of art history analysis are used to study the peculiarities in the artists’ interpretation of the plot of the work and in the choice of means of artistic expression. The view of a metaphysician of the computer era is revealed in the works of T. Khuzhin, an artist and designer engaged in the creation of computer graphics, who is used to design his own worlds and systems in virtual space absolutely freely. As a result of the study, the following features that reflect the influence of «augmented reality» (AR) on painting are identified: 1) layering of meanings, images and creating a situation of uncertainty, choice, game for a viewer; 2) a special refraction of the surrounding world, special «optics»; 3) «reviving» events with naturalistic persuasiveness-at one pole, or immersing yourself in the world of «machine» art with its order and logic - at the other; 4) provoking the viewer's imagination to complete the missing links of other worlds or images. With the widespread introduction of AR-technologies into everyday life, we should expect more and more changes and strengthening of a new trend in a modern visual art nature.
