Additional professional education as an important tool for career and personal growth

Additional professional education is considered today as continuous education throughout life, aimed at improving the professional level, contributing to the development of new professions, the formation of new qualifications and skills. The article presents a study carried out through a theoretical analysis of the works of domestic scientists. The author relied on a systematic approach, which allowed considering the stages of formation and development of additional professional education - from early forms of training to modern ones, using distance learning technologies and e-learning. The advantages of additional professional education (updating knowledge, expanding career opportunities, flexibility of training formats and employer support) and its disadvantages (time and financial costs, program quality, risk of overload, information overload and limited opportunities for practical application) are revealed. The purpose of the article is to analyze the disadvantages and advantages of additional professional education and provide recommendations on choosing a course in the modern realities of the labor market. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the integrated approach to the study of additional professional education, which combines historical analysis, modern trends and practical recommendations. The article also emphasizes the influence of such modern technologies as online learning and massive open online courses on the availability and quality of additional professional education, which is relevant in the context of the widespread digitalization of education.
