The article provides the overview of the main themes, ideas, and aspects of the special literary course by R. F. Yashenkina "Dostoevsky and West European Literature". The comparative historical study of the works of Dostoevsky, Schiller, Kleist, Balzac, Kafka, traditionally considered in the framework of various literary courses, is analyzed. The author emphasizes the deep theoretical basis of the special course and the interdisciplinary nature of several themes that involve the consideration of literary works in the context of philosophical concepts. The author of the article concludes about the relevance of this special course in the training of specialists of philological specialties.
