Religious lyric "Repenance for tempter" (to the studying of the subject of devil's repentance)

The article analyzes the spiritual verse (kant) "Repentance about the tempter", known today in a single list of the XX century. of Nizhny Novgorod origin. In its plot, the verse adjoins a large group of medieval works about the repentance of the devil, reviewed by the author earlier in the article of 1998 (see: AV Pigin, Ancient Russian Legend of the "Penitent" Conversation (to the Problem of Apocatastase) // The Gospel Text in Russian Literature XVIII-XX centuries.) Quotation, reminiscence, motive, plot, genre, Petrozavodsk, 1998. pp. 122-139). The author determines the place of this verse among other works on the same subject, establishes its possible sources. Particular attention is paid to the links of this verse with Russian romantic lyrics of the early 19th century. (VA Zhukovsky, AI Podolinsky, VGTeplyakov and others). The religious basis of the verse is analyzed in the context of theological writings (Origen, SN Bulgakov, NO Lossky) about apokatastasis (universal restoration at the end of time).
