The first performance of the Tatar professional theater took place in 1906. "Sayyar" was the first Tatar traveling theater troupe. An ordinary actor Gabdulla Kariev was the first director, and Sahibjamal Gizzatullina-Volzhskaya was the first Tatar female actress. They were not just the first to enter the Tatar stage but they created the real first Tatar acting schools, each with their own; they headed the creative directions of acting in the young Tatar theater. Realism, striving for vitality, psychological persuasiveness in creating images, scrupulous accuracy in conveying thoughts and feelings were typical for the performing manner of the actors of the G. Kariev school. The actors of the S. Gizzatullina-Volzhskaya school preferred separation from the usual, poetic images, and romanticism. Sticking to various creative views, tastes, and different acting traditions that became the basis of the Tatar professional theater, they contributed to the education of different types of actors, whose organic interaction made it possible to create a certain unity of style varieties and creative methods in the Tatar theatrical art.
