The name Jane Austen is traditionally associated with English-speaking culture and literature, as most of her admirers and researchers come from the UK and North America. However, in Spanish-speaking countries, the so-called "Jane Austen phenomenon"can also be observed, albeit to a lesser extent. By this phenomenon we mean the unabated popularity of her novels, film adaptations, the annual publication of new studies and even biographies. Thus, the article will focus on the functioning of the space of texts generated by this phenomenon. As for the structure of the space or field of texts studied by us, interpreting the theory of R. Collins, we can say that the works of the famous author are placed in the "epicenter", while the metatexts or metatext interpretations generated by them diverge from the center like circles on water. In the case of Jane Austen, these are translations into Spanish (Castilian), literary studies, film adaptations, and secondary texts. However, the communicative success of Austen in our days, especially due to the development of information technology, is also associated with other literary processes - namely, with the creation of fan clubs, online communities and sites dedicated to the "revival" of the Jane Austen era. The article gives an overview of each of the components of this space, which was originally destined to develop in Spain under different laws than in the author's homeland. However, the laws of semiosis is the same regardless of cultural and national discourse / context: each sign / text exists as long as it is interpreted through another sign / text. The expanding "Austen universe" started in Spain quite late, but because of this its study only acquires an additional flavor, which allows you to look at the familiar classics (and its author) from a different angle and "highlights" new unexpected possibilities of its interpretation.
