Teaching a foreign language is considered as one of the priorities of modern education. The specificity of a foreign language as a subject in its integrative nature, i.e. in combination of language/foreign language education with the basic foundations of literary education (familiarization with samples of foreign literature), as well as its ability to act as a goal, and as a means of learning to get acquainted with another subject area (humanitarian, natural-scientific, technological).

Thus, it can be implemented a variety of interdisciplinary connections (with the native language, literature, history, geography, etc.).

The main purpose of learning foreign languages is the formation of students ' foreign language communicative competence, i.e. the ability and willingness to carry out foreign language interpersonal and intercultural communication with native speakers.

To achieve this goal, it is necessary to strengthen the socio-cultural orientation of foreign language teaching, focus on strengthening the cultural aspect in the content of education, the inclusion of students in the dialogue of cultures, which contributes to the introduction of students to the culture of the country of the studied language, the development of mutual understanding, tolerant attitude to the manifestation of another culture, helps them to better understand the peculiarities of the culture of their country and develops their ability to represent it in the process of communication by means of a foreign language.

Foreign language communicative competence provides for the development of communicative skills in the main types of speech activity: speaking, listening comprehension (listening), reading and writing. The subject content of speech is determined on the basis of areas of communication (social, cultural, educational and labor), situations of communication and selected on the basis of topics of communication.

Thus, the components of the content of training are: the subject content of speech and emotional and value attitude to it (value orientations); communication skills in these types of speech activity; language knowledge and skills; socio-cultural knowledge and skills; educational and cognitive and compensatory skills (General educational skills and special/subject skills).

Learning a foreign language is aimed at achieving such goals as the development of foreign language communicative competence in the aggregate of its components and the development of the personality of students through the implementation of the educational potential of a foreign language. Components of foreign language communicative competence are:

speech competence - development of communication skills in four main types of speech activity (speaking, listening, reading, writing);

language competence - mastering new language tools (phonetic, spelling, lexical, grammatical) in accordance with the topics and situations of communication selected for the primary education;

the development of knowledge about the linguistic phenomena of the target language, different ways of expressing thoughts in native and foreign languages;

socio-cultural/intercultural competence - introduction to the culture, traditions, realities of the countries/countries of the target language in the framework of topics, areas and situations of communication that meet the experience, interests, psychological characteristics of students basic education at its different stages;

formation of the ability to represent their country, its culture in terms of intercultural communication;

compensatory competence - the development of skills to get out of the situation in the context of a shortage of linguistic means in the receipt and transmission of information;

educational and cognitive competence - further development of General and special educational skills, universal ways of activity;

familiarization with the methods and techniques of self-study of languages and cultures available to students, including the use of new information technologies. The development of students 'personality through the implementation of the educational potential of a foreign language is realized through: the formation of students' needs of learning foreign languages and mastering them as a means of communication, knowledge, self-realization and social adaptation in a multicultural, multi-ethnic world in the context of globalization on the basis of awareness of the importance of learning a foreign language and a native language as a means of communication and knowledge in the modern world;

formation of General cultural and ethnic identity as components of the civil identity of the individual; education of the qualities of the citizen; development of national consciousness, the desire for mutual understanding between people of different communities, tolerant attitude to the manifestations of a different culture;

better awareness of your own culture;

development of the desire to master the basics of world culture by means of a foreign language.

The planned results of the development of the basic educational program of primary education are important mechanisms for the implementation of the requirements of the standard to the results of students in a foreign language.

Students will gain initial experience of using a foreign language as a means of intercultural communication, as a new tool for learning the world and the culture of other Nations, realize the personal meaning of mastering a foreign language. Familiarity with the children's layer of culture of the country of the studied language will not only lay the foundations of respect for foreign (other) culture, but will also contribute to a deeper understanding of the students of the culture of their people. Primary General foreign language education will allow students to form the ability in elementary form to represent in a foreign language native culture in written and oral forms of communication with foreign peers, including using telecommunications. The parallel study of languages and cultures, common human and basic national values will lay the Foundation for the formation of civic identity, patriotism and pride for their people, their land, their country, will help to better understand their ethnic and national identity. As a result of the study of a foreign language at the stage of primary General education in students: formed elementary foreign language communicative competence, the ability and willingness to communicate with native speakers of the target language in oral (speaking and listening) and written (reading and writing) forms of communication, taking into account the speech capabilities and needs of the younger student; expand linguistic horizons; will get a General idea of the structure of the target language and some of its differences from the native language; will lay the foundations of communicative culture, ie. ability to set and solve feasible communicative tasks, to adequately use the available speech and non-speech means of communication, to observe speech etiquette, to be polite and friendly speech partners; positive motivation and sustainable educational and cognitive interest, as well as the necessary universal educational activities and special educational skills will be formed, which will lay the Foundation for successful learning activities on mastering a foreign language at the next stage of education.

Also important are screen and sound, such as audio recordings, videos, relevant subjects of training, materials for interactive electronic boards. These manuals can be used in the classroom in parallel with the textbook on paper. In modern education, widespread use of demonstration printed materials that provide visibility and create motivation in the process of learning a foreign language. Also, in modern conditions, the content basis of educational materials is significantly changing, fundamentally new information and communication tools are introduced into the wide practice of teaching: electronic textbooks, workshops and multimedia training programs in a foreign language, computer dictionaries, electronic libraries.
