Europe in travelogues by the Russian writers

The article discusses the impression of Europe given by the Russian writers in the genre of travelling notes. The travelogues created by V. Botkin, M. Saltykov-Shchedrin, I. Ehrenburg are under analysis. The author comes to the conclusion that the travelogue shows a strange country simultaneously learning a native one. Thus, it plays an important role in the cross-cultural dialogue.
