Identity factor - the imperative of professional education

In today's globalized world the sense of identity is essential. It is our «psychological anchor» holding us in the raging sea of turmoil and metamorphoses. With the crisis changes in society, identity being a static phenomenon in the past, can undergo changes, deformations or even fade away. A person ‘looking for himself’ collides with polysemantics of the emerged choices. Through direct personal identification with the reference person or a group in the identification process in the course of activities a person gets a better idea of himself and understanding of himself as a representative of the youth, labor or another community. The formation of a professional is the process of achieving a positive professional identity. The attainment of professional identity becomes a vital task of each employee. The article considers professional identity as one of the issues of the modern society. Today it becomes topical and is considered as an essential economic factor. The author highlights the subjective and objective aspects forming professional identity and notes mechanisms of its development.
