Aim. This paper aims to develop a factor model for the key parameters of motor abilities in 14- to 20-year-old adolescents and young adults with mental impairments participating in special hockey. Materials and methods. To construct a factor model for the key parameters of athletes’ motor abilities, the results obtained from testing at the end of the 2024 competitive season were compiled into a single matrix and subjected to factor analysis using Varimax rotation. Results. The factor model for the key parameters of motor abilities in 14- to 20-year-old adolescents and young adults with mental impairments participating in special hockey consists of five factors: 1. sensorimotor development and sensorimotor coordination; 2. motor coordination and fine motor skills; 3. lower limb motor skills; 4. auditory attention and processing of external information, fine and gross hand motor skills; and 5. fundamental leg and arm movements, object manipulation skills, and exercises with elements of sports games. Conclusion. The obtained results can serve as guidelines for developing intermediate and control tests to assess the actual level of development of the trainees without resorting to numerous exercises and tests. Such testing is, in most cases, very timeconsuming and, consequently, can lead to excessive physical and cognitive strain in athletes.
